CHARLOTTE TESS HARWOOD
Lotti. 24. Earth Faerie. Hetero.Emma Watson.

"Well, I go by Lotti, but if you still call my Charlotte I won't get offended. If I'm not at home, you can probably find me following the stream through the backwoods or down in the meadow. While I feel most comfortable being surrounded by nature, I still love walking through town and seeing all the people. I'm a pretty light-hearted person and I care very deeply for my friends. I'd go to the ends of the horizons to protect them. I also love the smell of a good, old book. There's just something about it that connects you to history. Anyways, I don't fancy liars or hypocrites, not in the least. So never try to double-cross me or my friends. I'm also not a fan of big business-types, like corporations, or people that only want to take from nature and put nothing back."

"My parents no longer live nearby, so I try to visit when I can. I'm an only child, you see, so when I turned out so different they weren't quite sure what to do with me. We still keep in touch, though, and it's not so bad at all. I was the one that told them to go, after all. I had grown up enough to where I could see they were still uncomfortable around me and this town, only slightly though. You see, they lived in the town next door, a town that didn't really know the history or secrets down here on Cherry Tree Lane. Other than my parents, I have no siblings, and if I have distant relatives, I've never met them. I do, however, have a pet cat that is one of my best friends. I promise it's not as sad as that sounds. I'm not a loner, by any means, but I enjoy my time at home as much as anyone."

"Like I said, I mostly grew up in the town just over. Somehow, through some sort of lineage, I was born an earth faerie to human parents. Once my delicate powers began to manifest themselves (like, the time I needed shade and the trees spread their branches over me, or the time I wanted to camp outside and the ground made itself as soft as a mattress), we knew that I must belong to the town that had Cherry Tree Lane. My parents supported me, even though they didn't fully understand, and we moved over here. That was around a decade or so ago and I've lived here ever since. I feel right at home here, though I do miss my parents at times."

"I'm not terribly interesting, I'm afraid. I was bright, if I say so myself, in school, but I didn't see myself as one of those intellectual types. I loved to write and doodle rather than pay attention to dates and equations. I left some of my old friends behind when my family moved here, but I never really felt totally at home at that school anyways. Here, though, I felt more comfortable in my own skin, at least. I'm most around my fellow faeries, the good ones at least. There's some sort of unspoken bond between all of us that allows us to feel comfortable and safe in each other's presence. As for loves, well, my greatest love is nature and seeing how everything is connected. I haven't really found someone special yet."

James walks over to the reserved table, thanking the hostess before sitting down. He had arranged a small gathering of friends to all get together before classes officially started for this term. And by friends, he really meant anyone that wanted to show up was more than welcome to do so. He had smooth-talked the school's secretary to send out an email to all of the students, inviting them to this rather ramshackle shindig. He had said, "Now, Mrs. Abernathy. I know these emails are still such a new technology, and they might be a little foreign to you still, but rest assured, you'll be quite the talk of the school. No, really, I swear. So if you could just click the button that says Forward, and send everyone that there invitation, I'd be much obliged." Mrs. Abernathy had folded right away, almost too quick. She wasn't used to getting any attention, let alone attention from a Gentry.
He rolled his eyes as that thought crossed his mind. The fact that society still hangs on to this ancient titles is beyond me, he thought with a sigh. It's not that he didn't understand how history worked; of course the Gentry served a role in society. But that doesn't mean that in order to be friends with someone, you had to have the right kind of fate in your family's past. Because James hadn't been born into that kind of society, he wasn't blinded by their rose-colored glasses.
Now that he was sitting here, he didn't really expect anyone to show up. He hadn't expected much in the first place, just thought it would be a nice gesture, to put a good foot forward. He already felt like an intruder at Charlotte Rose, what with James Tristans being forced upon every one. So, he figured it was the least he could do, even if no one showed up. It wasn't like he was one of the popular kids and this was some sort of no-expense-too-high, blow-out. Thankfully, he had given the waitresses a heads up, just in case. However, for now, he sat at a regular four-top; he knew better than to rearrange nearly the entire restaurant just for a few, snotty college kids.
The chair scraped as he scooted in towards the table. James was busy pretending to read the menu, even though he had been here plenty of times before. It was delicious, and always fresh, but he could basically recite the menu backwards and forwards.
